Abington Allotment & Leisure Gardeners' Association (AALGA)

About us

"What is a weed?  A plant whose virtues have not yet been discovered."

-  Ralph Waldo Emerson

AALGA was established in 2010 with the aim of providing a long sought after facility for the village.  Through an agreement with a local landowner we have around 50 plots actively cultivated by residents of the Abington parishes as Tenants of the Association on a site located to the right on the Linton Road heading out of the village towards the A1307.

The Association is managed by a voluntary committee elected by its members.  Plot holders pay annual fees to cover plot rental, water provision and membership of the National Society of Allotment and Leisure Gardeners (NSALG).  Members of the Association receive a regular newsletter and may attend and vote at the AGM and participate in the running of the Association and in other events such as Quiz nights and BBQs.
